For over 18 years in the position of Public
Relation Officer, now at the age 62, retired two years ago from the Fire
Department in Suriname. From 1989 – 1993, worked as editor-in-chief of the
journal of the Moravian Church in Suriname. The undersigned obtained a Bachelor
of Arts in Journalism (General Technical Subjects) at the “Academy for Higher
Arts and Culture Education, AHKCO” in 1992. A World Council of Churches
scholarship provided the opportunity to go through a three-year training
program at the Caribbean Conference of Churches in Bridgetown, Barbados (1993 –
1997). During this period, contributed to some interesting post peer reviews of
projects such as “The History of the Church in Latin America.” Leading scholars
of all areas of Latin America wrote this scientific history. Edited by Enrique
Dussel, at that time president of the “Commission for the Study of Church
History of the Church in Latin America.” I also worked on some writings of the
Caribbean Conference of Churches at the 500th anniversary of the arrival of
Christopher Columbus in America. A
graduate paper on weekly church newspapers in Suriname brought the honor of the
first qualified male journalist in 1992.
In 2013, completed some coursework (English
for Specific Purposes) in the distance learning program of the University of
Oregon, American English Institution. Peer review was a standard obligation of
this study.
At present teaching Mass Communication and
Marketing Planning at the institution where graduated (25 years ago). Recently has
been making arrangements to start a blog and online business https://glenncomn.blogspot.com
Routine posts will be on academic writing and publishing to help students
publish their papers in English.
